Chatrooms, Bulletin Board in Windows Hosting
Hi,
I noticed that Unix hosts normally have chatrooms, bulletin boards, guest books, shopping cart and some other functions but I haven't seen Windows hosts with them. Is this because the Unix functions are all open source (i.e. free) - does it mean that there are no Windows Hosts that provide these ? |

I see - do does it mean that if I want to avail of all these things - a Unix-based hosting is the way to go ? |

To a person site, perhaps *NIX hosting will be suitable. Not only affordable, since there are loads of open source scripts, it is generally more stable than Windows platforums. Since everything is usually controled by control panel for both *NIX hosting and Windows hosting, then you don't have to worry that you might have difficulties with the CLI in *Nix platform.
UNIX might not be the way to go for everyone, in this case. |

There are Windows-based forum software, shopping carts etc too. It is just that you usually have to spend some money on them. I think there is a popular Windows forum called Snitz or something like that. |
