View Full Version : Can't really get any customers
I've launched my services some days ago, but till this day, but had only one signup.
What am I doing wrong?
Any suggestions about what to do to increase the flow?
Thanks. :)
Yup, hosting. Perhaps you can help me, give me some tips. :D
You can check out what I'm offering to be able to give some suggestions.
Thanks. :)
Publish your presence in search engines like yahoo, google.
You can get lots of people visiting your site. If they like the offers, they will surely sign up.

Hi,
I have listened to your requests for a revised pricing and have discussed it with my partner. As we are not a large company, we came out with our revised prices days ago, less than 12 hours after your initial request, without any lengthy delays. I have made a reply to my post at the Great Offers forum, but perhaps you've missed that out.
I am trying to emphasise on being open and frank with my customers, and to actually care for and listen to their requests. However, it isn't working out. I have one potential client asking about a domain, then rejecting me because: "I can get one at xxx for just xxx!". I thought that that site he or she referred to is selling domains at a loss, but I didn't say that, of course. :)
Would advertising in CATs work?
And 1 thing too. Your pricing in your website is not clearly persent. Try to use smaller fonts. Hope my tips does not affect my business :)

maybe someone should get out with a SGD8.88/month hosting package (SGD20 one-time setup fee)? hehe
150MB space
5 POP3 Email accts
1 year domain name (.com, .org, .net)
mySQL database (50MB)
CGI, Perl, PHP and etc
hopefully lowering down the prices will help abit. ;)
Hmm...that about non-viable unless I want to oversell by a factor of 2.
The space and transfer part is the problem. :)
Any ideas on how to publicise? Besides buying placements, no budget and I'd like to aim for the local market.
Will advertising in classifieds section of newspapers work?
actaully your webpage could do some work.. make it more "pleasing" to the eye. that can actaully make the atmosphere better..
You can find all sorts of web hosting directory and add your company into it.
For a beginning, you can add yours in our very own directory at

Any idea of their rates?
Wait, I think it would be thousands. Let me think of a way to get featured without paying a cent. :D

I've done that.
Oh, your "comments" button is spelled wrongly.
well.. i just wonder.. how u manage to offer unmetered bandwidth.. If i'm not wrong the data center you are located in, does not provide unmetered bandwidth.
Secondly, probably you should try moving to Singapore rather than just having a dedicated server in the US

I don't offer unmetered bandwidth.
Singapore server, that is something to shoot for next year. Think I will build up my customer base first.
Edit: I have check my ads at sgwht-directory and my webbie, and didn't manage to find unmetered bandwidth.
Please point out where it is, and I will remove it. If anyone read it and wants to signup, please accept my apologies. I will offer 1 year free Argon hosting to make up for my oversight.

I'd hate for inaccurate information to be passed around.

The problem is that there are no such things as unmetered bandwidth .Even Starhub don't provide you them. Neither do USA data centres.

Thanks.
Zoomer,
Implying something that is untrue is not good for reputation... offer what can be offered and your future clients would appreciate and might help to spread for you (however, from what i notice [..kena ban in this forum also don't want happen] spreading words for you in Forum is totally NOT a good ideas...!)
There are many tips around which some already been pointed out by your forum members... move on to plant your seeds to catch your first fish...
All the best!

I never said nor implied that I was offering unlimited bandwidth. Perhaps someone was mistaken.

your bandwidth limits seems to be too less
hi fred! just now.... i click almost 5-6 times to reply... and i keep ending up in login.... i thought to myself... GREAT... after posting 2 community messages.. kena ban.... THEN... i realise i used the wrong pw!!! :D
Hi Zoomer,
The true is most people/company say they want this and they want that... their actual usage is a far cry out...
talking about bandwidth capacity, you don't have to but you do have choices to oversell within the bandwidth that you have BUT you need some calculations to ensure 'what if' the customer really used it to make sure you can cover the basic cost to slot in more bandwidth...
take care!
