One word of warning about your domain: Users might forget about the 's' and instead type www.hosting.com.sg .

yea.. i didn't checked about that. It's not that bad either lah. i uses hostings.com.sg for my IRC services products and another domain for my hostings products. I am 16 this year.

nope. the server hosting hostings.com.sg is down. the HDD crashed and backup went with it. All files loss. Well, i deal irc services using that domain. i didn't do anything to try to find out which domain is used and those s or other thingy. i just register the domain where users know me off. Can i have the ans of thsio thread topic ??!!
If you get this domain name by yourself, i think you should be able to get the colo.....am i right? i also dont know.... weekend comming, no mood to work....so....punching here and there.

you can get a colo if hostings.com.sg is registered under your name, as simple as that, you should noe what i mean.
i believe u can like get colo from like eg. firstcolo.com as long as the person who signs the contract is 18 years and above and pays the first time activation fee and first month's payment as doing so, you actually affirm that you agree to the terms and the terms usually state in lay man terms, that if you don't pay, you r connection is cut..

basically, he is supposed to be 18 and above to sign up for a .com.sg domain right ?
Correct me if i am wrong.
If the above fact is correct, he should be able to get a first hand colocation instead of from resellers.

sian1/2 .. sinnerzone i am talking about someone under 18 could get his own colocation and u are replying me with if i can register hostings.com.sg and i can get my colocation done. It does not tally. I am trying to ask if my friend who is 17 this year and wish to get a colocation done. It's not me. And anyway, having a registered company needs you to be 21.

From a reputable reseller, you should be able to get it cheaper as once customer know that this company so-so gets from XX dc, and if XX dc offer a lower price, and so-so offer slightly higher and is a reseller of XX dc, definitely people will turn to XX dc. But if the reseller price is lower, it's a fairer balance as it might not be of that trustworthy to get from a reseller but it could be cheaper. A very good example is with firstcolo and QALA.

well, we do have customers for colo actually under the age of 18 but the contract is signed by a person who is 21 years and above.
We have the details of the person who signed with us.
We do this so as to have a legally binding contract with the customer and us.

I understand that running a business under 18 without a registered license is illegal. In the event, where an under-18 operates an illegal business, may I ask glenn, if you do press charges against the under-18 or the 21?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would be seen as the 21 being the owner and that the under-18 just being a staff under the 21.

Too, having a hostings.com.sg in my signature does not mean that i registered that domain but i am the one using the domain. please do a check in SGNIC and check who is the owner. If by putting the .com.sg in my signature means i registered that domain(company), you are trying to point at SG.GS as we know that HengChai uses the site http://sg.gs in his signature too and also, he is not the owner of SG.GS this company too. Get your facts clear please.

alright alright .. Stop boosting around on your language. It's rather a personal business on the methods/ways on getting a .com.sg domain rather than enlightening you. Well, as i have said. It's a possiblity my uncle owns a company and register it for me? I got someone else to register and he does not wants to use it and 'lends' me to it? I don't see any law/NIC rule stating that users who is not the owner of the domain can't use it.

By doing a simple whois, I realised that both hostings.com.sg and bots.com.sg are under the same registrant. Seeing the email, we all can know that it is Heng Chai (or sg.gs).
So in other words, am i supposed to conclude that the uncle of yours is Heng Chai ? :D :D :D

well, it certainly does carry a meaning by using the 'word boosting'. Thank about it. Even though you are trying to ask if HengChai is my uncle, why bring bots.com.sg up? My personal view makes me think that you are sort of jealous or something. Indeed, HengChai/SG.GS here is the IRC services provider of bots.com.sg and hostings.com.sg. It's not the uncertainty of using the word possiblity but is just the fact that there don't seem a need to tell you here the reason or rather the ways and means to get it. And also, to correct your point, by having a henchai@singnet.com.sg means it's owned by hengchai( in this case, you're lucky but it is)? Then i'll get singnet to open me an account by name billgates@singnet.com.sg and that means i have to be Mr Bill Gates of Microsoft?

Ans : yeap but it's true that i'm not the domain older and once again, yes i am just borrowing it. BUT by saying that

By not giving you my RCB number does not mean that i am NOT of registered but there isn't a need/oblidgation to do so. Even if i am not of one, it's a 'people's view" that a personel using a .com.sg domain is carrying a name with the SG Government which is not true. It's up to what the people out there think but it might be right or wrong. By saying cheating is a harsh word to say that. Try pickup better words like "sinnerzone" is trying to do, and maybe use the word hiding the fact that I am not registered with RCB. And just some addon, I have no cases of customers complaining of fraught until the recent so-so did and i kept my conscience clear of cheating which is widely recognise within my group of customers as well as 'outsiders'.

Response : I don't quite understand this question/view/point. I suppose you are trying to say if i requested the admin to close it to avoid people know more about my 'unethical act'. I don't think i want to make my point on this further after this once. The other thread was requested to close as it does not help matters and seems more of a fight rather than a argue.
It's up to you if you meant what i did was "unethical" but my consultants and myself don't feel it this way.

Check with your DNS provider. The www.sghostings.com was pointed but not the domain itself. Its your DNS provider's fault. Reverse DNS is a separate thing altogether and has nothing to do with your domain DNS.

Well, some people (like myself), don't add www. in front of the domain when viewing on the webpage. You can point the domain to the vhost IP while having www.domain.com pointing to the web server.
Solution : Get your shell provider to give you a html folder, put an index.htm that refreshes to http://www.sghostings.com when someone visits http://sghostings.com
