What options do Singapore websites have when it comes to collecting money ? Paypal, Worldpay, what else ?
There is new one...
Called Wallet21.Com
Check it out at : http://www.wallet21.com
Quite cool ... allows for DBS / POSB bank transfer etc...

Checked out their website. Are you sure they are in business already ? Because almost all the links in on the top navigation bar leads to nowhere. Even the link to the parent company does not work.
The Tokio Marine and fire Insurance Company (Singapore) Pte Ltd has agreed to insure against non-delivery of up to
SGD$100,000,00 per order for all purchases made online by Wallet21 users.
And how much are they insuring, anyway. $10 Million per order ?
There's this one by DBS, a merchant account called C2pay. Can find info on their website. However it's not really that clear, I would be interested in a merchant account that accepts credit cards as not many people like paying by paypal.
Maybe someone can call for me? =P

DBS got? how much leh?
in reply to Wallet 21 ...
yes they are in business already...
my wife has completed about 5 transactions with them...
all for her new handphone ! Bought credits for Igauna Mobile - the one that allows you to download ringtone, operator logo, SMS pictures etc...
She did not tell me until recently and when I checked out their site ... Shock of my life - the links don't work and worse ... I sent them 2 emails ... you know what I got ... both could be be delivered ... according to the error ... NO ROUTE FOUND TO XXX SERVER.
Scary to know what my wife actually used them ! But she got her credits and now she phone rings with XiaoDingDang and has a Mushimaro logo on it....
Women.... !!!
DBS got? how much leh?
I also don't know. I really want to find out, because Worldpay is too expensive, and Paypal has too many trust issues, and well if it's DBS, can you imagine the convenience of having your funds deposited to your savings account instantly? =P
Just dreaming. Hehe.

If DBS rate is affordable, why not?
Paypal is not for large transaction...
What about 2checkout?
In reply to DBS Cpay.. I think its not the solution that you are looking for. If I am not mistaken.... DoorKeeper and Xharine were asking for what is known as 3rd Party Payment Gateway Providers... ok ...ok I know the term changes ... some call it CC gateways, some say they are payment clearing houses .... but basically what they do is they let you use their merchant account to clear Credit Card transactions...
DBS Cpay does not do this ...
Read the following from DBS..

E-commerce is no more the way of the future; today, it is the way to do business in Singapore and around the world. We can help you be a part of it with DBS c2pay. c2pay is a payment method that lets you handle all credit and debit card transactions online.
The solution
DBS c2pay provides a secure platform for MasterCard, Visa credit card, and MasterCard debit card payments. Payments received are deposited directly into your bank account the next working day. DBS c2pay is easily set up, and can be operational in just three weeks or shorter. No worries about technical details for you - we take care of everything.
Value-added features for merchants
DBS c2pay allows you to set your own limits and monitor your transactions accordingly:
There is a Monthly Transaction Limit that is calculated based on your monthly turnover. DBS requires a standby Letter of Credit to cover any charge back situations that may occur within six months from the date of purchase. For transactions that are above the limit set, you can either choose to receive payment six months after the transaction date or increase your standby Letter of Credit to receive payment the following day.
You can set a Transaction Limit. For instance, if your largest ticket item is $5,000 and you set your transaction limit for that amount, DBS will alert you when a purchase amount is higher than that. You can then confirm the transaction with your customer and advise us if you would like us to accept the transaction.
Another limit you can set is a Daily Transaction Count Limit. This determines the number of transactions you would like to accept in a day. If the number of transactions exceeds this number, we will inform you and you can decide on a daily basis if you would like to accept or reject the additional transactions.
In addition, we provide a fraud count service and will flag any transactions made three or more times on the same item by the same cardholder, on the same day. You will also receive notification of the number of charge backs received in a month and of sudden surges in transactions. These services are provided free of charge to help you administer your account.

Call us today at 1800-834 1852 and in no time you'll be doing online business 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
Conclusion ... DBS is not a CC clearing house .. its an entire system !
I have searched for 3rd party payment gateways and findings were....
in Singapore ... World Pay would seem the most logical in terms of their brand name, experience support and speed ... but they are not the cheapest. Actually, come to think of it... Singapore doesn't really have that many 3rd party payment gateways.... see a few of them and although I know I have their information somehow in my office filing cabinet.. none of them stands out ! Sadly only WorldPay...

WorldPay is the only one with an office in Singapore, I think.
Right on.. my man...
Office is at Suntec City !
Well, I would rather have a real merchant system than use a 3rd party one seriously....I would consider C2pay if it's affordable for people like us. =)

My vote goes to WorldPay. Still the best IMO considering they have a local presence, can pay to local banks and have pretty good customer service (called them once to enquire).

bkm: Money goes to your bank account? :D
i'm interested. Wat are u going to offer, and wat returns u want? can PM me.
as for citibank, if i'm not wrong, u need to have a ready credit account in order to do internet banking. Correct me if i'm wrong. coz previously i have to pay my bill by
1. transfer money from DBS to Citi Ready Creadit
2. transfer money from Ready Creadit Account to my clear card account, to pay my monthly bill
So i suppose they still dont have IB service for normal CC.

If I do remember correctly, both UOB and Citibank's solution charges a rather high premium for each transactions. Furthermore, it will require you to have a merchant account with them. And depending on the kind of amount you're expecting to transact, you will need to put in a significantly larger amount as deposit in your merchant account to cover charge backs. My opinion is .. if you're just starting off, PayPal might be the best choice even though it take ages to get the money to be transferred to your local bank. If not, WorldPay will be th next choice, but it will involve a bigger upfront investment.
SG.GS bkm: Money goes to your bank account?
hehe, can also ;)
but no la, everything can be customised.
It is a lifetime account afterall and I hasn't use it for quite a number of months already.
btw, I have several payment gateways :D
I would consider 2checkout to be quite ok la, good support and provide bank wire although sometimes transfer a bit slow.
Paypals, as referred by some friends, seems ok too but recently a lot of new rules, so got some problem i think.
:p
Paypal has put quite alot of effort in preventing fraud
okay ... apparenting in the web hosting business everyone is using PayPal and/or 2Checkout...
since some of you are already familiar with one or both of these ... could anyone enlighten me as to the process of site integration ... is this difficult ?
Mmm... may I add that I have zero programming skills ... reading and understanding simple HTML is the best I can do ...

Depending of which method you are going to use, both will have different coding that need to be insert into your order or payment page.

Just had a brush with integrating WorldPay into a client's site. It's quite easy, just some configuration done at the account administration module. For a more customised look, you can actually upload your own response files to the WorldPay server. HTML knowledge is good enough. The online help files are easy to understand as well.
But if your account is UOB, you might have a lengthly activation process.
Just some inputs. Hope it helps.

Am i right to say that we need about 1 mth for checks from 2checkout to clear?
What's the difference compared to using Worldpay?
Does Worldpay require you to use a actual business/company name?
Thanks.

It as simple as putting up a link ;)

You can't afford to wait for the check as it'll be in USD and yes USD takes 1 month to clear with a local bank charge of S$35
2checkout provides direct deposit to your bank account, why would you want to collect check?
The difference is Worldpay more expensive :D
It's ok if you like to drop by to see their office girls now and then la :D
the Worldpay girls very pretty meh???
:D
C2Pay DBS Pricing:
$2000 initial deposit
2.5% per transaction
$600 annual fee.
the Worldpay girls very pretty meh???
I don't know la because I use 2CheckOut mah :D
I don't see any sense paying more because of their office in SG mah. (paying to help pay for their office?!!!)

hmmm... so is the c2pay by dbs still available not? i think engaging 2checkout very expensive as if you need the cash fast, using wire for a big sum very costly leh.. what about world pay?do they use a local cheque to bank into your account?and do you need to pay an additional fees like processing fees?if not ok lar..just as long as your mark-up margin is high then it should be ok..but does anyone knows how c2pay and worldpay takes how long to pay out the money?
to those who use 2CO, how much do they charge for direct deposit to our bank?

It means the oppsite, actually. The host will give the customer a bank account number and you can then deposit the required amount into the host's account.
Ah.. not forgetting eNets service for credit card clearence.
Quite competitive fees with Worldpay too :)

1. I've been using them for over 6 months
2. They settle via bank wire transfer every week promptly
3. Their site is very stable and my clients did not have even a single problem paying me
4. and they have an excellent admin panel which shows very detailed stats.
Yes they can wire to any bank which accepts bank wire ! :)
I have heard alot of good things about paysystem, think worth a try. I'm a 2checkout client, they are abit cocky, coz my recent bad experience is :
They display my balance wrongly !!! I never got my account right, because of they balance statement, always got money lost somewhere and i dont know where is it and how it happened. Last week when i check my account, it said i only got 50+ dollars, in fact i got alot alot more than that. Email them, 1,2 days later tell me that my total balance is wrong... damn sux.

Hi guys,
I'm a 2CO client too.
Below is the Wire Fee I see on their vendor's page (USD$):
$100-$200 = $33
$200-$300 = $30
$300-$400 = $27
$400-$500 = $24
$500-$600 = $21
$600-$700 = $18
$700-$800 = $15
$800-$900 = $12
$900-$1000 = $9
$1000-$1100 = $6
$1100-$1200 = $3
$1200+ = FREE
There is a 5.5% + US$0.45 for each credit card processing.
So far I don't face any balance error (I have small amount of money in it, anyways :p) The only thing I don't like is their customer service desk response time. It usually takes 3 days for them to notice my ticket. :(
Other than that, I'm still happy with them. Oh by the way, they have fraud protection and they will review every order to prevent fraud. If an order is suspicious, it will be sent for manual reviewing and it takes another 24 hours.
Thanks.

moneybookers is good, e-gold is another option too.
if i have a website and need to collect membership fees, anyone can recommend me company that does that ? i have a few criteria though.
- currency is USD
- i must have control over the credit card statement name (meaning not like *PAYPAL [MERCHANTNAME])
- does not require company bank account to setup
any help is appreciated. thanks.
i ruled out worldpay, they have very high annual and setup fees(more than 1k just to setup and get going)
I need some information about handling credit card payments on my website. I want the customer to enter their information in my website instead of "paypal payment page" or "eNETs payment page". How can I go about doing that? What are the solutions/charges? I've seen alot of sg webpages which lets you do that for e.g. "www.fareastflora.com".
Any help is appreciated thanks.

tommylh,
The reason why these payment gateway (paypal, enets etc) is for your security. So, your customers are not worried to give away their credit card number because they trust enets & payment; more than they trust you.
The solution you are looking at, is like those payment at SIA or Air Asia website, where they keep the credit card no etc. For that, you have to establish a merchant account with the bank directly. This normally require x amount of deposit (a big sum), and a company background check etc. Many legal issues and paper work, before you get the account. The cost is a lot!
Just call up any bank and tell them you need an online merchant account.
So far, I never get any merchant account done. it's just too expensive.

I've used (and is using) all the above payment gateways (and more) for my software business, and the best is still Paypal. You need a premium/business account. Of all gateways, Paypal has the most flexible IPN scripting. It handles large transactions no problem. For larger businesses, you may consider Payflow Pro (which allows you to handle your own transactions on your own secured site). Recently they opened an office in Singapore too.
I've used Paypal as my core payment handler for years. The main (and only) problem is that there are some countries from which they do not accept credit card payments, or allow them to open up accounts. Sometimes I get customers from these countries (like Lebanon), so I'll have to provide a secondary gateway.
For users looking for iBanking transfers, you may consider www.telemoneyworld.com (previously telemoney)
