Shopping carts

Hi everyone,

Have you come across any good commercial or even free shopping carts for use?

I currently need to implement one for a client.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have been told of X-Cart and ShopFactory. Anyone use them before?

Just went to the Miva website. Couldn't get as much info about the product as I would prefer.

Have you tried it personally, perhaps done an integration for a client or yourself before?

Personally, I feel that you will be much better of building a customised one. Most free shopping cart systems in the market is either too generic (which in fact make it difficult to use) or just lacking in functionality. You can get something very decent done up for less than $1K. Adding on store front, customer database, logistic and some tools to manage multiple currency, you should be looking at about $8-10K.

Personally I tend to agree with you. But too bad I have to face the reality that my client is not going to pay for much and I think I am going to have more of this type of clients. And their needs aren't demanding. So I figured using a shopping cart would be appropriate in this case.
