sounds like switchfusion is getting into alot of bad publicity...
is this good example of "dun ever cross your customers"?

Very bad for business if they don't clear up the situation. All hosts have some problems or another. Explaining to your customer that the fault is unavoidable AND apologizing that you are already doing your best but understand that its not fast/efficient enough. A lot of hosts aren't honest and neither humble to do that, and they don't clean up the mess either.
Anyway, from what I know SwitchFusion went down cause 8 to Infinity moved from Starhub to 1-Net, hence the downtime. But either way, they should use backup servers to migrate the sites, move the original servers then reactivate the original servers. That is the CORRECT procedure for any network migration of servers. Having backup servers on hand for migration or if there is hardware fault is VERY important if you want to be a reliable host.
You might want to take a look @ http://www.sgwebhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=186&pagenumber=3
My two cents worth says if a webhost goes down, give them the benefit of the doubt that they are trying everything within their means to bring it back up. If they are shifting datacenters, it is an inevitable thing that they have to go with.
however
If they start lying, it is not a very good sign.
Thanks wendalee76. I was doing a search for hosting actually, and found all the threads about this switchfusion. Very scary. Anyway, thanks for sharing. ;)

There are people who want to report this host to Small Claims Tribunal and CASE.
