Hello, Invisions seems to be mighty feature packed. phpBB on the other hand looks very soothing and relaxing on the eyes. The theme included with phpBB is very nice :)
Plus phpBB has many hacks available to enable you to edit/add many more extra functions. I have personally used phpBB, not invision yet.
Invision's layout looks very busy though.

Its not. But its in beta i think. Tried the beta but it looks too confusing for newbies who want to set up their forum.
Anyway, ipb isnt free right? So as vbulletin. I wonder why it appears here when the thread title says "free forum to use".
I prefer smf. Simple and quick. With no security compromised. :)

Last time IPB is free, think when it's version 1.2 that time.
If wanna use free bulletin board, use phpBB.
nobody realised how long ago was the original thread started? its 2002! omg.
anyway i intend to use phpbb3 as well but im afraid i might be wasting money on domain+webhost as i might not have time to manage it..
u look at the thread starter post date.
i realised that already :)

My point is PhpBB as a whole with all its versions, it is widely used I still agree.
