Do you have one or more favourite FTP clients which have served you well ? Care to share which one and why ? :)

I started out and used WSFTP LE for a long time. Then I found AceFTP and Core FTP lite in the past year or so. CoreFTP is quite interesting. It can connect to 2 remote servers at any one time and transfer files between them.

Hi,
I started with CuteFTP, then later WS_FTP Le and now SmartFTP.

When using CuteFTP with Windows Me (previously) the software will be closed automatically with error message. Not sure if it happened only to my computer. WS_FTP Le is better than CuteFTP, but still, it is no way to compare to SmartFTP because SmartFTP is free :D

Thus, I find SmartFTP is the best and I'm happy with it :)

lolx. Yes Yes. SmartFTP is indeed very smart. I like every single feature of SmartFTP.

At first I started out with WS_FTP and I don't like the feature and the way it function.

For SmartFTP, I can connect to the server as many time I wan. Just to do different task and not slow down what I am trying to do.

I don't use FTP with authentication anymore.

Most differences in FTP clients is really just in the interface. Many features have existed for the longest time, or can even be found in the DOS/UNIX command line client. eg, QUOTE REST <number> for file resumes; PROXY CONNECT/GET/etc for server-to-server transfers (so-called fxp).

I like lftp (unix comand line client).

Ermm no. what i mean is not by opening a few copies of the ftp client itself. WS FTP has a feature called multi uploads which allows you to upload faster when it comes to installing web scripts (ipb, phpnuke etc.)
