Hi,

I'm new to this co-location thing. What I need is a 1U rackspace for colocation. I need :

- Guaranteed bandwidth (I might be serving for a few thousand people at one time, if it goes well, I'll probably need to do clustering/load balancing or something similar like that, I'm open to options for expansion details if it picks up)
- Guaranteed uptime
- 24 hour support? (Not too sure)
- Info on what to setup on the server once I decide on whom to go with.

I'm not sure what else I need other than the above, so if anyone would be kind enough, please give me details. Thanks alot in advanced

Please mail me at yang@witsdom.com.sg

I realise I wasn't too specific yesterday, but I'm more or less looking at a minimum of 1500 to 15000+ users, maybe double that amount in mysql queries, in a span of 30 minutes during peak.

If it goes well during the first few weeks, definately I'll get more rackspace and machines.

Well it's kinda like those online learning stuff. Flash with php/mysql backend basically.

from your numbers, it seems like it's going to be a very intensive site... i'm only running a normal forum, with about 30-40 users online at any one time.. and it is already consuming more than 1GB per day, and hitting the server really badly... from your number of 1500-15000 users online during peak with flash, graphics, etc, it will take A LOT..

if you are not sure about server setup and stuff, personally i think you should look for someone to help you manage the server. Get a dedicated server or lease to own option... i've been talking to choon over icq recently, he is a very knowledgeable guy.. i think if you need help setting up your server, you might want to hire him..
