Just wondering.. any guys know how to do webpages accessable by handphones?
is there any diff??
or is it just plain old html?

was thinkin of venturing into this unknown land.. hehe..

o yah.. forgot to add.. for server side, what is required for the user to access the sites?
or is it just plain addin it to the cp's erm... extandations?

Not sure. I did a try for scorpius, and i think the server has to support .wml files.

Other than that, it's just a link. Just like a test link.

For the pages, just a normal page.

you will have to use WAP/WML

check out www.w3schools.com for some tutorials on them.
Also, if you wish to get some ready-made files that you can upload unto your server and access via WAP/GPRS, i believe hotscripts should have a few of them

hmm.. thanks guys.. i will try that.. but in the mean while.. another question..
would i be able to access webmail using wap/gprs if the extandation is added?

Yes, I think you should be able to access your webmail if but through a webmail script that is created for WAP.

GPRS is the network, where WAP is the protocal.

In order to use handphone to access, you need a .wml pages, or any script like .jsp, .asp that can dynamically generate wml pages.

You can access your webmail using handphone provided the original code has been stripped down and reparse into wml

You might want to try something like IceWarp Webmail which can be access on your normal desktop PC and it supports WAP access as well.

hmm, i found a script which uses the POP feature ... something like an email client... wap version..
i am going to try it out soon..

yup.. it's a freeware...
u can find tons of them @ hotscripts


currently in the midst of testing which script works ... better... than the others.. heh...

Let us know which works for you or why do you prefer one over the other. Anyway, have you tried or in the process of testing IceWarp Webmail?

well... they are made for windows
and the server i am on is a linux.. so.. i cant try it... even if i want to... =(
