This category seems to be languishing behind the others.

Ok. Who has got the best reseller plans amongst our members ? Let us vote and explain why.

In the forum?

Cyber-Genesis has pretty well service. But too bad, i prefer CPanel over Ensim.

Putra had a nice Cpanel server. But sigh, there were alot of cpanel issues. But well, i must say the server is wonderful.

KhimHong had a wonderful cpanel server too. But well, the few but yet seem lot of catastrophic downtimes are quite annoying.

Actually, the best will be according to each's preference.

Well, you can choose one, but you might be able to find one with a good balance of both too.

There are providers bearing cheap price and quality..only that you have to hunt for them; you can't tell off-hand.

What about those webhosts thats not in sgwht ? Maybe we can take some and compare :)

userguy
07-10-2003, 15:58
Wouldn't there be nothing much to compare since most Singapore web hosts are already here at sgwht? lol :D Well, maybe exception of one or two...

shawnho
08-10-2003, 06:31
actually thats not true. there are still many, at least most hosts that are not active in sgwht

userguy
08-10-2003, 12:38
Oh, you mean those hosts that sign up with sgwht and not participate in the forum? :D Anyway, at least 70-80% of Singapore web hosts I have seen are in here except for many those slightly smaller ones. Not many of them do reselling right? I know that one called 8 to Infinity that offers reseller packages - comments on them? :)

shawnho
08-10-2003, 21:19
no there are many webhosts that arent even registered here..... and some who do are not actively involved either.

i havent heard of 8 to infinity's reviews, any customer of them want to comment ?

userguy

Their site looks presentable and pricing seems reasonable. Anyway, here are some of the reseller plans they offer: http://www.8toinfinity.com.sg/reseller.html

I am 8toinfinity's customer for around 2 year!!:)

They don't provide the top level customer service but there is nothing bad I could say about them.

They have servers located at starhub. They also provide d1asia and pacnet collocation service. Boon from 8to is a very friendly guy.

high speed server, negligible(~0) downtime(in fact, I don't remember any downtime).....

Pricing is around middle ranged. I would stay with them if I am not starting my own server.

Ah...I see. From your comments, they seem to a very reliable and stable host :) Anyway, you were a customer with them for around 2 years? Was that in reselling, dedicated/shared hosting or other services?

Yah...they really is.... =)

I hired a reseller plan..but used it as a shared hosting package.
Heard from Klause that they had been there for quite a long time.

userguy

Yup...klause is right. They have been here for a long time. From their about section, they are set up in Nov 1997 and incorporated as a company in Mar 2000 - what took them so long? :D Anyway, they've got a nice mission statement:
To provide state of the art Internet technology to every individual and company at the lowest possible price with the highest possible quality.

.. We are probably NOT the BEST Singapore reseller, but...

i'm happy with my datacenter (NAC-USA) and our resellers have been happy with our services :)

Our main reselling market is in US and India, and i wonder if my prices are reasonable for Singapore market...
care to comment?

Yeah...you posted in the right section lol :D Anyway, your prices are just a bit on the expensive side for reselling in Singapore although there is no need to pay for the setup fees. You might want to compare your pricing with LiveHostings.com - they offer very reasonable prices in Singapore :D

oh mymy... look at their prices!

yea my pricing is alittle steeper but with alot more space ... well, i don suppose most resellers actually need such high plans...

have reviewed my plans accordingly: http://newzpixels.com/reseller.htm

Yup. The plans look more affordable now. You should be able to attract more customers for your reseller plans this way :)

From a 1 year odd experience, usually reseller will start small and the most budget one. Basically reselling can be said to be the pyramid strategy. If you remember, health care products company are using this to their distributors.

Although not their staff, they sign up under them, create a distributor membership(reseller account), and start selling, perhaps to relative and friends. They might also want it for themselves, just that for web hosting reseller accounts, you get more freedom in setting your own pricing.

They will usually start from a small account, whereby is that affordable and they can pay if they say a little. I think anyone above 12 should be able to handle internet, and save at least S$15 for this play thing, which in return might generate a little profit. Even if it's a loss, S$15 isn't a big sum.

P.S. newzpixels, your signature is nice. I was drinking concentrated juice. Then i saw the NICEST pics on earth, and i somehow caused my screen to be sticky now!! arh!

I think it's quite fine now, if your server is speedy and your service is top notch. But you'll have to know who you'll be targetting at, as, if you're targetting students range, 15-20, then perhaps you'll be waiting in vain, or having very poor sales.

However, if you're packaged with good network and support cum service, you might attract a few people who do not want compromised quality products, who thinks paying higher price will get better stuff.

Anyway, your pricing per se is not very tempting, hopefully you don't mind my comments, and i wish you good luck. :)

thanks for comments. am always looking to improve :)

actually, my clients are mostly media developers, private schools, ecommerce sites and even doctors... their expectations for performance as well as customer service is super duper high!

so far so good. most of my clients have at least 2 accounts with me.. guess it's shows something :) Actually i'm quite lucky, my clients have been doing alot of word of mouth advertising for me. LUCKY ME :)

Hostings:: hope that screen aint too sticky!
maybe my girls can come help u clean up! hek hek
