maybe you try out as a reseller and experience the feeling.
If you have more confident, switch to semi-dedicated or dedicated.
I guess some old bird here might give some advise.

1. A good server is a must - no matter reseller plans or full dedicated server.
2. Join any domain reselling programme/find a person who can sell you cheap domain names.
3. Consider billing/support scripts if you have many staffs
4. Web hosting knowledge.
Would I need a realiable optic cable connection?
I do know how to handle apache, tomcats, mySQLs and stuff, just wanna know the hardware side of things...

I dun think you need a realiable optic cable connection. That in fact is rather expensive. OC24 is quite a large sum of money to support. I would agree to get started with a reseller plan first. Then get the hold of the reseller panel and the client panel.
Hope I am not wrong to say this. Me myself is also new to all this. Still trying to learn and pick up something as well ard here.
Have fun

fauzi: perhaps you can query and ask, ard for a Reseller panel. After which if you find you are better of switching to a dedicated server ( server leased from a provider, or one that you bought and colocated it ) you can do so. Its very much recommended.
is there a need to register the business ??
how much does it cost and where can i find more info about registering business

A current dedicated server can cost up to $300, for a normal one, with plain OS. If you're new to webhosting, i suggest a reseller account, then wehn you have a bigger customer base, then move to a dedicated server, then to an owned server.
