Chin: How about posting your business plan perhaps as a pdf file here for all members to have a rough look at what a business plan is about.

A business plan is usually necessary to get funding, etc.

Well, haven't really written down a proper and formal business plan. I basically just write down what needs to be done on a notebook (those azone ones - aka: 'old economy' types) and put it under my pillow :D

What i wrote in the pages were:

1) milestones I would like to achieve like number of signups/day I would like to get by year-end. Advertising budget/month by year-end, partnerships, value-added features to incorporate with hosting packages.

2) Shortlisting of possible hires - (Counts? )

3) Registration of company - Costs associated with registering my company, vitrual office fees, etc? ( )

But seriously, what actually should a proper business plan contain?

I was thinking along the lines of:

1) Projected Growth
2) Expected year-end turnover
3) Projected staff size/cost
4) Final goal - growth to be achieved

Exit scenarios :- (Exiting the company)
5) Close shop - (aka: run away)
6) sell lots of yearly packages with unlimited b/w,etc and close shop next week :P
7) Sell off the company to singnet & by a porche

Never really tried the business plan pro yet but I still have to grasp the concept of the business plan idea.

Hi Chin,

Basically you need to state some points such as:

Financial benefits for the company
The objective of what your propose
Target market and audience
Evaluations of after 3/6/9/12 months

*Best to add some diagrams in your business proposal.*

Hope that this will assist you. :)

Hahhahaa....

Don't misunderstand. What I was trying to put across are 'kinds' of scenarios that can be put into the business plan. :D

More like a broad view rather than the specific scenarios. ;)

Web rookie. That is a pretty good outline about a business plan. Very detailed.
However, I believe a good business plan (especially those that you are trying to "sell" to others) should be more concise and compressed. Long business plans may look detailed and professional, but it does not get the essential idea across. Hope this helps.

if chin is trying to sell to others, i agreed with sloth.
a concise and compressed version is suitable in this case.
it will be less tedious to go through it with your prospective clients. straight to the point kind of thingy. if possible, bundle in a visual presentation. that would impress them. =)

Yes, visual presentation is very important in delivering your message across. :)
