View Full Version : Anyone Hired Oversea's Programmer Before?
Hi,
I'm looking to hire some programmers from rentacoder.com
Its my first time doing an overseas outsourcing project. Anyone done it before. Could you share how / what is the best way to manage this?
E.g. What happens if they stop halfway? What is a fair payment term?
Thanks in advance.

Check their rating and make sure they've handled subsequent similar projects. For more info you should read their TOS and check their reviews.

Well, I've used one at getafreelancer.com for my previous website layout. They are pretty good and reasonably priced. It's just the can-trust or cannot-trust problem and of course, the time difference. So look for the reviews :)

No my personal experience. But as a web hosting provider, I have seen my clients engage overseas (specifically indian) programmers. While they have solid skills and can get things done fast, there are times when they can have big issues.
The most common ones are
1. Virus infection on the source files. Because they don't even have anti virus installed on their developement machines
2. Security problem, especially sql injection
3. Basic, amateurish interface
So, please beware
