PHP Programming Certification Course
================================

In partnership with Zend Technologies, the Ph.P Society has started a PHP Programming course where you will be certified as a Zend Certified Engineer (PHP). This form of dual certification is the first of its kind in Asia.

Benefits of Certification:

- Differentiate yourself from competitors when looking for a new job
- Boost your value at your annual salary review
- Get your resume/CV noticed
- Gain recognition from your employer

Above all, in a classroom setting, you will benefit from the personal experience of the trainers and your peers, making for a more conducive learning environment.

You can find out more at http://www.php.org.sg/courses/. For more details, do email us at info@php.org.sg or call us at 67458082.

The Ph.P Society
================

In June 2008, the Philosophy in Programming Society (Ph.P Society) was formed to better govern the Singapore PHP User Group.

As a step-up from the informal PHP user group (http://www.php.com.sg), the Ph.P Society has a wider mandate of championing the open source development community and to raise the standards and proficiency of the software programming members – starting with the PHP Community.

The society aims to do this through training and a customised developer-centric curriculum to raise the skill level of the community. With stringent standards, and the support of our technology partners such as Zend Technologies, our members can be certified as competent and proficient coders.

We will also be providing job placements and internship opportunities with our corporate clients. This will further expose our members to real-world development environment and to fully utilise their open source programming skills.

Our ultimate goal is to raise the perceived and real value of the open source software programming community in Singapore and in Asia.

For more info about the society, do visit our website: http://www.php.org.sg

The cert may not be recognized but the program is rather good. I've known so many programmers and i found a weakness in local programmers, they are more efficient in ASP.net programming rather than PHP, while now recession is near, companies are cutting costs, people will turn to opensource!

Think bout it.

i agree with syed, but is more efficent in asp.net than php.

to show a table in table takes in 5min the most to display the data. but for php, OMG.

think about it, take this chance to learn! instead of just going for the sake of the cert.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your support and interest in the program. In the PHP Programming Course, we aim to equip our students with knowledge in the best practices in the industry for developing real-world PHP applications.

To compare ASP.net to PHP is a little unfair because ASP.net is a programming framework on top to ASP. There are similar PHP Frameworks such as CakePHP, Symfony, Zend Framework and many other that can help you develop PHP applications very rapidly.

I had experience of developing whole portals in 3 short days using CakePHP.
