Dear fellows,

I am looking around to build a community website with 4 things in mind:

1. a forum (e.g. vBulletin used in this excellent site) with multiple image uploads within a single post

2. an image Gallery for users to show their photos

3. a Directory where registered users can either make their info public or private while registering, including attaching a banner of their company or website and

4. a Download section where users can upload, delete and download files like PDF, Word, Excel or Excess.

Within the site, a powerful search where users and unregistered users can search the entire site.

I prefer the images and files uploaded throughout the site to be unhotlinkable to other sites including Google Images which can suck much bandwidth.

My site data:
phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl 1
MySQL 4.1.12
Php Version 4.3.9

Apparently, Invision forum has something close to my requirements but
I wonder if anyone has experience using their integrated packages?

One good example is Clubsnap.
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/
where I am a regular although I have a separate interest for my own website.

Thanks ahead for any suggestions, comments or recommendations.
Do feel free to PM or email me directly.:)

Have tried invision before. It is very good. Personally, it is my favourite with vBulletin being my second. Installation and support are just great. Have tried before the gallery and everything. Dosen't seem to consume too much resources, and it makes me fufil the objective of the site.

Dear Darylngch,

Many thanks for your feedback on Invision.
Can send me your URL?

Comparing the 2 (vBulletin and Invision), Invision seemed to have
integrated solutions for things like Gallery, Download, etc.
Save me lots of time to do my other things.

Hope to hear from others who probably have used other solution
but I don't mean those CMS. Sites based primarily on the core
forum seemed better, to me.

Have a nice weekend ahead.

I no longer own that site, and so-on, as it was an enthusias site on Microsoft Products, and after since we stopped operating that site since Microsoft has fufilled the objectives which we wanted.

But, other sites which are using invision are:

2: http://jcxp.net/

If you want, if i didn't remember wrongly, you can request for a trial.

Thanks.

I did a trial admin login there though no addons are included on the test run.

However, Debbie sent me these examples utilising the addons.
