a small VB program can do this, you may want to try it yourself.

You cannot send fax via Broadband. You need an analog modem. You can however, plug it into the same line as your broadband line. (I'm assuming you're talking about ADSL).

Windows 2000 already has support for receiving and sending of faxes. Read the help.

are you sure there is such a thing? or do you mean using VB to write to a fax queue but still require a normal analog modem to do the sending?

sorry, i only did it using normal phone line, didnt go through the modem. The VB code use win2k's fax service to send fax.

hmn, didnt know WIN2K has such a feature.

I just read your reply again ... and this time it caught my attention ... did you say it did not go through the modem? Did you meant to say that it did not go through your ADSL modem but using your normal analog modem ... or NO MODEM AT ALL? If no modem, who's doing the dialing? Or are you using some online fax servcie? .... so many question .... :confused:

sorry... i meant ADSL modem. i got a normal fax modem in my pc. hope this answer can solve your many questions


EDIT: type wrongly, should be normal modem, not telephone line.

I saw a free Fax service on the internet some years back... it uses email. You just add the fax nos in the email receipient and it'll send the fax over via a local fax exchange or something. However, it took 24 hrs to process.

Will see if i can find that website again...

Singtel got such service also, but is not free....
